Default Leaving your Second Profession

Hey there guys, This is Rhine Stone - Im currently in a bit of a tussle. Last night as I was leveling, I went to the Catacombs and accidently for some reason picked up Novice Necromancer... But i really dont want to be a Mesmer/Necro in the long run. If you have any idea on what to do, input would be great!

I'm assuming that you're still in Pre-Searing Ascalon.

You won't be able to change your Second Profession until after you reach Level 20, so if you really don't want to play that secondary, you're better off wiping that character and starting over.

LOL, I did the same thing. However, I just started 3 more characters instead of deleting.

Are you making fun of my choice in professions? I'm the ONLY, and I mean ONLY, Mesmer/Necro I've seen in the game so far... Where are all my brothers and sisters in gimp?

Just do the quest for the exp. When it is completed she gives you the choice to take necro as a secondary. All you have to do is say no thanks and just go and do another. You can do all the secondary quests and when you are all done with them choose one.

I'm a Mesmer/Necromancer.

And I certainly don't consider myself 'gimped' either. I am certainly hampered by being unable to choose the skills I want to use, but not gimped.

DoT/Blood magic for the win.

I have a mesmer/necro. Bone Horrors are handy to have, so are life draining spells.

The only thing I'm not sure about though, is do degeneration spells stack? Like siphon life and conjure illusion...

The max Degeneration or Regeneration you may have in effect is 10 pips... so you may stack Life Siphon (1-3 pip degen) and Conjure Phantasm (5 pip den) and say Bleeding (3 pips degen) and Poison (4 pips degen) but you'll max out at 10 pips degen (15 total, 10 max). IIRC the game keeps track of the extra pips of degen, so if that target got Healing Breeze (3-8 pip regen), you might still have a net 7-10 pips of degen (15-8 = 7 or more degen).

Tell me more about changing your class when your lvl20 please, what does this do to your skills. if i for example have Ele/Mo i could become Ele/War?

you keep (for pvp) any skills you unlocked with your previous secondary profession

as to how you do the switch nobody has said yet

The bottom line is that you could have a primary character who has experimented with all five available secondary professions. That character will likely have good stock of skills in each of those lines. In fact, that character could have every skill in each of the five available secondaries. The character then, in ways not yet to be revealed, will be able to shift to a different secondary and take advantage of a long history of roleplaying character development.

Need more info on this.
I am @ a dude who wants too change my secondary profession intoo mesmer.
So when i do that then i can't use my old secondary skills anymore right.
Like i use a bow and i got 12 markmanship (that will be gone then right?)
It says that i am worthy of more then 1 seconday skill but that is just a typo right???
